WeWomen, Ongoing Series, about the relationship between memory, emotion, gender and Identity.
I explore the relationship between memory, emotion, gender and Identity in drawings, paintings, mixed media, and poetry. I portray women providing services often invisible, in a series of water carriers, seamstresses, workers, all lining up to serve, to protest, and to organize. These are intended to give voice to the long history of anonymity women have endured, to illuminate and honor these women and their work, and to find connections to the inequities of work situations that affect women today. I also portray a variety of women in a series of video interviews about memory in different locations globally.
