2023- In Search of Meaning, Memory Becomes Us; Poems from an Exhibition
This book is a collection of poetry from the exhibition, In Search of Meaning, Memory Becomes Us, by artist and poet, Patricia Moss-Vreeland. There are 20 poems exploring the sensory and metaphoric connections she finds embedded in memory, along with some of her art. This book of poetry was developed at the exhibitions host site, the Phillip Museum of Art, where the Curator, Janie Kreines, wrote an essay for the book, "Patricia’s work speaks to me as she expresses the interconnectedness of human neurological processes, nature, and the relationship of memories with our communal history." Also endorsed by Lindsay Marino, Director, and several other people familiar with her work. . Since 1998, she has been collaborating with neuroscientists, to learn more about the human brain and the construction of memory. Each poem reflects upon her journey exploring memory and its role in our lives, from the personal to the universal, and to present the interconnectedness between each of us and to nature. Moss-Vreeland's poetry invites us to be participants. Her poetry becomes a place for us to make connections, individually and in forming a collective memory. Moss-Vreeland is interested to share her poetry about memory, forging a new partnership with the reader.
